Discovery Cube has partnered with several agencies in Southern California to bring free environmental education programs to many schools in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Space available in these programs is limited and based on your location – call 714-913-5030 today to find out if your school is eligible!

Water Education

Discovery Cube is proud to be the largest provider of water education programs in Southern California partnering with Municipal Water District of Orange County, Irvine Ranch Water District and Golden State Water Company. Each year, approximately 110,000 students participate in our school-based water programs. Depending on where you live, your school may be eligible to participate at NO COST.

Each of our programs includes a Discovery Cube instructor, free materials for students, and aligns with California Science Content Standards.

Rainbow Disposal

RainbowLogo2013Available only to schools within Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Westminster and Midway City. Free 45-minute assemblies taught by the highly trained Discovery Cube staff utilize a high-tech, student-response, keypad system to introduce your 5th grade students to resource conservation. Students receive a free bag made from recycled plastic bottles and booklet. Programs within the cities mentioned are very limited, so call 714-913-5030 soon.

Orange County Waste & Recycling

County-Seal-High-Res-ColorThrough generous funding provided by the County of Orange and OC Waste and Recycling, Discovery Cube is able to offer a multifaceted educational program based on the 6th grade California Science Content Standards of Resources. This program includes an in-class, interactive assembly-style program as well as a field trip to the Cube. Educational booklets and other resources for the teachers and the students are also included, as is a $200 bus stipend. Please note that this program is for 6th grade Orange County students only. Schools are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and must participate in both the assembly and field trip within the same school year.

ECOScience

Discovery Cube has partnered with Earth Friendly Products to bring workshop-style environmental prograEcoScience_Logoms to 5th grade classrooms in Southern California. This program comes at NO COST to schools and includes an hour-long, interactive classroom lesson based on CA Science Content Standards. Students will learn about chemical reactions, surfactants, and other chemistry concepts. Students will wear gloves and goggles while they do lab work, including pH testing, and they will create their own biodegradable laundry detergent to take home!
