Calling all Earth-loving explorers! Join us in taking the Eco Challenge at home and teach your kids the importance of diverting waste to the landfills. Eco-challenge is the perfect hands – on science based activity for ecologists and conservationists of all ages and levels. This year we’re discovering organics and composting.
What are “organics”? When you hear the word, you might think of fruits, vegetables, and meats that have been certified USDA organic (which, among other things, are grown without synthetic pesticides and raised without growth hormones). But organics (plural) refers to organic waste: materials such as food scraps, paper, and plant debris that can be composted and used as a safe and natural way to help plants grow.
