2020 ANNUAL DISCOVERY CUBE GALA

After months of debate it is with a heavy heart that, on behalf of your 2020 Gala Co-Chairs: Lori & Karl Kreutziger, Julie & Tom McDorman and Janet & Walkie Ray, we share with you that the 2020 Discovery Cube Orange County Gala has be cancelled.

This difficult decision was made out of an abundance of caution and in consideration for the health, safety and well-being of all our supporters, staff and volunteers. We came to this conclusion based on the only certainty that we have, which is, that these are uncertain times.

Having said that, the Discovery Cube team is continuing to do great work advancing the mission of the Cube, including with the new digital education platform Discovery Cube Connect, and there are BIG plans for the future of our all Cube sites. To accomplish these plans we do need resources and, as you may know that the Gala is one of our major annual fundraising events.

We sincerely appreciate that our community includes us as one of it’s charities of choice through the Gala each year.  We are asking that all our constituents continue that critical support, even though we won’t be having our traditional night of fun and giving this year.

In lieu of underwriting, table sponsorship, fund-a-need, and auction donations for the Gala this year, we will be asking our supporters to sponsor Cube activities that will help us advance our mission and support the community need – now more than ever. Please consider making an unrestricted gift to our Orange County and Ocean Quest sites or, see the links below for specific opportunities highlighting the difference your donation will make in the community.

We are resilient, believe in the greater good, and look to science for encouragement, hope and the way forward – remembering that this is why we believe inspiring the next generation of scientists and leaders is so critical. As we pull together to make smart healthy decisions, we will come out on the other side of this stronger, smarter and more determined to make sure our children have the resources to lead in science, technology, engineering, math — or whatever else they choose to do!
