Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve missed you! On behalf of the Discovery Cube team, we’re excited to have you and your family back. We’re working closely with all state and local agencies to ensure a safe, healthy and happy experience. Together, we will “Make Healthy Happen during your visit to the Cube. The following FAQ may answer any questions you have prior to your visit.

 

Admissions 

How much are tickets to the Cube?  

General admission tickets start at $14.95 for children 14 years and under and adults 15 years+ $19.95. We accept cash, Travelers Checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card and Cube gift certificates. 

Do I have to purchase tickets ahead of my visit?  

We strongly encourage it due to timed entry. But tickets can be purchased onsite for any available time.  

Do you offer senior discounts? 

Yes, seniors have a discounted ticket at $16.95. 

Do you offer group discounts?  

Yes, depending on the size of the group.

How long does a visit at the Cube take? 

Depending on the size, age, and engagement of your group, visits can last anywhere between 2 hours to 5 hours. The average visit is around 3 hours. 

Will there be an additional charge for special exhibits or events?  

Not at this time. 

Can I get a refund for my tickets or event purchases?  

Tickets are good for 1 year form the date they are purchased. We do not offer refunds on tickets or events.  

Do you offer gift certificates?  

Yes, gift cards can be purchased onsite. Gift Memberships can be purchased online or onsite.

Hours and Location 

What are your hours of operation?  

We are open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday. 

Where are you located?  

Our address is 2500 North Main St. Santa Ana, CA 92705. We are at the cross sections of the 5, the 57, and the 22 freeway meet.  

Parking and Transportation  

Where do I park?  

We have parking onsite as well as overflow parking across the street.  

How much is parking?  

Parking is $6 and we strongly encourage guests purchase ahead of time.  

Is public transportation close by?  

Yes, there is a bus stop on main street, about 3 mins walk.

 

COVID-Procedures 

Are there capacity restrictions at the Cube?  

Yes. We have reduced our capacity to allow for social distancing.  

Do Guests have to wear masks/PPE? 

We are currently asking guests over the age of 2 to wear face masks. Other PPE like gloves and face shields are not required. 

How often is the Cube being cleaned and sanitized? 

We have implemented regular cleanings in all high-touch and high-traffic areas. 

Are there sanitization stations at the Cube?  

We have hand sanitizers throughout the building and 2 restrooms upstairs, 3 down stairs, and 1 family bathroom down stairs. 

Will there be any hands-on exhibits open?  

Yes, we have taken extra precaution to ensure these exhibits are cleaned after every visit. 

Will the theater be open? 

No, the theater is temporarily closed.

 

General 

Are there food and drink options available? 

Our café is temporarily closed however there are ‘grab and go’ snacks available from our onsite science store. 

Can I bring food into the Cube? 

Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food and drink. 

Can I bring strollers into the museum?  

Yes, strollers are welcome. 

Can I drop my child at the Cube alone? 

Kids under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. 

Can I take pictures inside the Cube? 

Yes, we welcome guests to take photos. 

Do you provide tours of the Cube?  

No, we do not provide tours of the Cube.  

Is the Cube wheelchair accessible?  

Yes, the Cube is ADA compliant and wheelchair accessible. 

Is the store open? 

Yes, our Discovery Cube store is open. 

 

Exhibits / Events 

When is Bubblefest?  

We’ve moved Bubblefest to holiday time, Dec. 19-Jan. 3 

 

Members 

Will I lose time on my membership with the COVID closures?  

No. We’ve granted four-month extensions to all Membership that expired through May 30. 

How much is a membership to the cube? 

We have 3 levels of membership; you can check out our Membership page for more information. https://oc.discoverycube.org/membership/ .

How do I purchase a membership?  

You can purchase a Membership online or onsite.  

How long is my membership valid?  

Memberships are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. For gift memberships, it is 12 months form the date of redemption.  

Donations 

Does the Cube accept donations?  

YES! We accept them onsite, through our website, and through development.  

HOURS AND CALENDAR

Discovery Cube is open daily except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
