Our Volunteer Team makes a difference each day! We are very excited to grow our adult volunteer program in 2020 – making even more of an impact on the youth of Orange County! We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are able to donate their time during the week, as we host over 520,000 guests each year- and over 70,000 students on field trips! Our Exhibit Hosts, Exhibit Facilitators and Team Spark Volunteers make a huge difference in the students’ experience and create a positive lasting impression! A teaching background is not required; we are simply looking for people who are outgoing and passionate about science and giving back to their community.
We have a variety of fun and engaging new volunteer positions now open to adults (over the age of 18), including:
- Exhibit Host – The Exhibit Host Volunteers assist guests in engaging with some of our most interactive exhibits, answer guest questions about the exhibit and the Center, ensure guest safety at the exhibit, and conduct basic troubleshooting of equipment.
- Exhibit Facilitator – Volunteers fill a critical and exciting role as the link between an exhibit and Discovery Cube OC guests. The Facilitator communicates the “big idea” of the exhibit, assists the guest with understanding the science concepts behind the exhibit, and encourages guests to describe real world situations associated with the science concepts.
- Team Spark -Volunteers present hands-on tabletop activities in an engaging manner to Discovery Cube OC guests.
